A Quick Tutorial on Remember the Milk by Ryan McGeary

rememberthemilk.jpgRyan McGeary has put together a really excellent and to the point screen cast on how he uses Remember the Milk for GTD. If you’re just getting into using Remember the Milk this could say you a tremendous amount of time in figuring out how to set up an application that is powerful because it is so flexible, yet for that same reason may be a challenge to set up initially. Ryan’s screen cast will save you a ton of time. Check it out!

  1. Wicked. Thanks for the kudos and syndication.

  2. This forum thread contains the basic smart list definitions used in the screencast:

  3. Thank you for sharing this with all of us in GTD. Any application that works for GTD is great. I am using Outlook and can not complain.

  4. One of the things I like about RTM that wasn’t shown on this screencast is the ability to cross reference next actions by PROJECT as well as next action.

Every one of my next actions has at least two tags: one for context and one for the project it is associated with. This way I can review my project list and, if I want to see my next actions for a project, click on the tag to do a quick search of all next actions with that project tag.

  5. JLA, Good point. That notion is very powerful, and I use it, but I failed to convey that. I think after a couple years I’ve started to take some of the GTD philosophies for granted :-)

  6. Hey Thanks for that Ryan.

So can you or JLA explain that projects/next action thing you are talking about and how to implement it?
