GTD Connect

Webinar on Maintaining Control & Perspective in the Daily Grind

The next Webinar on GTD Connect, the online learning center for the David Allen Company, will be “Maintaining Control & Perspective in the Daily Grind.” It will be held on Friday, October 15th from 10am-11am Pacific Time.

If you feel like your productivity gets hindered by latest and loudest or you don’t feel in control or have as much perspective as you’d like, this one is for you.  Open to all GTD Connect subscribers (annual, monthly or guest pass).  This is part of the advanced “Black Belt” series running through October, for those who have the basics of GTD down and are ready for more of the sophisticated spins on GTD.

If you can’t make the live event, our webinars are always recorded for replay on the GTD Connect website.  Learn more

A member shares about GTD Connect

We received this letter from Bruce, about his recent experience with GTD Connect:

I joined GTD Connect a week or two ago, and I’m discovering that it is an excellent resource. The amount of content is awesome, and you have developed an active community. (Initially I thought: $48/month is a lot of money. Now I realize it’s worth it.)

I read Getting Things Done about three years ago, and although much of it made sense, I missed a lot of it. I’m now reading Making It All Work, reading articles on GTD Connect, and listening to Connect webinars, and I’m developing a much deeper understanding of GTD and how to apply it.

Thanks!
Bruce

How to dig out from your backlog

Two of our Senior Coaches, Leslie Harradine and Kelly Forrister, are doing another one-hour Webinar on Digging Out From Backlog. • Creating a supportive environment around you

We’re giving away 5 seats to attend this Webinar to the first 5 people who reply with a comment (directly on GTD Times–not other feed sites) letting us know one thing you’ve implemented with GTD that has worked well for you.

Digging out from backlog

A GTD implementation story

Nate Burgos passed along a great interview he did with Digital Media Project Manager Steve Dale about GTD.  It’s always interesting to hear how others have implemented GTD and what their journey has been. Here’s an excerpt:

What’s your advice to people who aspire to get organized and stick to it?
If you’ve ever wanted to have more time to do the things you really care about, whatever that is, then you owe it to yourself to get organised. The idea that creativity and being organised are somehow mutually exclusive is completely false in my opinion. If you stick with it, GTD becomes a set of habits that helps you to spend more time on the things you’re passionate about. If you get too hung up on the method and peripheral issues such as having the right pen, notebook or file labeler, etc., you’ve fundamentally missed the point.

Two of our senior coaches, Meg Edwards & Kelly Forrister, are doing a 3-part Webinar series for GTD Connect members. It will help those of you who are teetering from newbie to black belt–you know the basics, but are ready for a deeper cut with GTD to really make it stick (and actually get that mind like water experience!)  All Webinars are one-hour from 1oam-11am PT and the series will cover:

Part 1 covers Organize (May 7)
Part 2 covers Collect and Process (May 14)
Part 3 covers Review and Do (May 21)

We post the replays for all Webinars to the GTD Connect media library.  This series is free for all GTD Connect members.  If you’re not a member (and frankly not much of a joiner-kind-of-person!), then try the monthly plan ($48), which would qualify you to take all 3 Webinars.  Just cancel before the next month renews.
